The Legal Intelligencer recognized that Curtin & Heefner’s victory in the case Robinson v. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania was one of the most important decisions of the year.  In an article on the year in review, the Intelligencer noted that the case, argued by Curtin & Heefner partner, Jordan Yeager, was among the cases of national significance that the Commonwealth Court decided in 2014.  As the newspaper reported, the court “threw out as unconstitutional a provision of the oil and gas law that gave the Public Utility Commission the first chance to review the validity of local ordinances regulating the industry.”  This victory for Curtin & Heefner clients built on an earlier round of the litigation in which the state Supreme Court issued a landmark decision striking key portions of the law and revitalizing the state constitution’s Environmental Rights Amendment.
