Curtin & Heefner is pleased to announce that Mark L. Freed has joined the firm as a partner in the Environmental and Public Sector Section and Ernest W. Schoellkopff has joined the firm as an associate in the Litigation Section.
Mark L. Freed represents clients in the areas of environmental law and litigation. Mark has been repeatedly named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer. In addition to over fourteen years in private practice, Mark served eight years as an Assistant Counsel with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. Mark also served two years as a criminal prosecutor in the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Environmental Crimes Section, where he prosecuted cases involving water pollution, hazardous water and storage tanks.

Ernie Schoellkopff has provided insurance coverage advice and litigation services to carriers on homeowners, general liability, property, automobile, motor carrier, professional liability and other policy issues. He is a frequent appellate practitioner and his work has resulted in over 25 reported opinions. Ernie also has handled a broad range of complex litigation involving business and real property valuation, health care organization and finance, e-commerce, product liability, commercial contracts and real estate (including land use and eminent domain).
