Curtin & Heefner attorney Lauren Williams, testified at a state legislative hearing in Harrisburg on Thursday, May 2, 2013.
The hearing centered on what state government can do to make shale gas development more protective of human health. Ms. Williams spoke on the need to end the use of open oil and gas wastewater impoundments, as well as other practices like onsite burial of oil and gas waste. She also emphasized the need to restore local authority to zone oil and gas development uses like other industrial uses.
